Role
Ceramic Artist
Project type
Ceramic Sculpture
Sonriente is a recent project that was completed for a ceramics class during sophomore year of college. Inspired by the ancient ceramic sculptures known as Sonrientes ("Smiling Men") found in Veracruz, Mexico, the project resulted in a waist-up sculpture of a smiling man wearing a similar headdress to the original sculptures. The finished piece now resides with the artist's dad in Washington.
For each of these three photographs, I used Adobe Photoshop's generative fill to achieve the backgrounds with the prompt "ancient ruins in Veracruz, Mexico".
